Tommaso Barbi Biography
Tommaso Barbi was a renowned Italian designer and artist, best known for his contributions to lighting, furniture and interior design. Born in 1944 in Florence, he undertook art and design studies in his hometown, but also in Rome and Milan. The main characteristic of Barbi's work lies in the use of high quality materials such as brass, bronze and crystal, together with his attention to detail and craftsmanship. He is particularly known for creating elegant and refined lighting fixtures, often characterized by organic and geometric shapes. Throughout her career, Barbi has had the opportunity to collaborate with prestigious clients, both luxury brands and private clients, in Europe, the United States and Asia. He also worked closely with important architects and interior designers of his time, including Renzo Mongiardino and Peter Marino. In addition to being a successful designer, Barbi also practiced painting and sculpture, exhibiting his works in galleries and museums throughout Italy and Europe. Sadly, he passed away in 2015, but his legacy as one of the most influential designers of the twentieth century lives on today.
