Achille Castiglioni Biography
Achille Castiglioni (Milan, 1918 - 2002). Son of the sculptor Giannino, he graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan and worked, together with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo, in their studio which deals with architecture, design, urban planning, exhibitions and exhibitions. In 1956, together with other personalities, he founded the ADI, Italian Association of Industrial Design. Between 1955 and 1979 he won seven Compasso d'Oro awards and participated in the Milan Triennale in 1951, 1954, 1957, 1960 and 1963. At the Polytechnic of Turin, he held the course in Artistic Design for Industry in 1971 Together with his brother Pier Giacomo, he creates well-known design objects for famous companies, such as Kartell, Zanotta, Flos, Barnini, Siemens, Knoll, Poggi, Lancia, Ideal Standard, Arflex and Alessi.
