Alberto Meda, Paolo Rizzatto Biography
PAOLO RIZZATTO (Milan, 1941) Has been involved in architecture, interiors, design and lighting since 1973. He has designed for Alias, Arteluce, Artemide, Alias, Cassina, Danese, Fiam, Flos, Guzzini, Knoll, Kartell ... and in 1978 he founded the company Luceplan with Riccardo Sarfatti, a multinational company in the lighting sector, whose lamps in glass, filigree, aluminum and plastic are known. Architecture, like design, for Rizzatto concerns needs and functions that go beyond the contingent moment, expressing in every part of historical development the spirit of its time. Rizzatto also applies to the design project the same rules that govern the architectural project, he changes the point of view, the measures, the field of action but the method is the same. Already from Rizzatto's first projects aspects of his design and research method emerge, which will also be found in subsequent years, such as an attention focused on the theme of the profession of architect understood as civil commitment and on dialogue, on full knowledge of what projects.
