Silvio Allason was an Italian painter born in Turin in 1845 and died in the same city in 1912. After employment at the Ministry of War, around 1867 he decided to dedicate himself entirely to painting. He trained at the Albertina Academy in Turin as a student of E. Gamba and A. Gastaldi for the study of the human figure and at the same time he also studied landscape.
Allason exhibited for the first time in 1869 at the Promoter and subsequently his works were also presented in Milan, Naples, Paris (Salon of 1878) and Nice, where one of his canvases "Among the rocks" was purchased by the Chéret Museum. In 1873 his painting "In agguato" achieved considerable success, receiving praise from V. Bersezio and being purchased by Tommaso Salvini.
Some of Silvio Allason's works are today preserved in the Civic Museum of Turin.
