Contardo Barbieri (Pavia, 1900 - Milan, 1965). He enrolled at the Brera Academy and attended the painting course. In 1928 he became a teacher at the Milanese Academy and participated in the Venice Biennale. The following year he was assigned the chair of painting at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo. In the following years he obtained various recognitions and prizes. Between 1933 and 1944 he participated in numerous exhibitions and was once again present at the Venice Biennale. After leaving his professorship in Bergamo, in the post-war period, he taught at the Istituto Superiore D'Arte at the Castello in Milan and at the evening school of craftsmen in Brera, continuing to hold important exhibitions.
