Pietro Barucci was an Italian painter born in Rome on 20 April 1845 and died in the same city in 1917.
Pietro Barucci specialized in painting landscapes of the rural areas around Rome, where he found his main source of inspiration.
He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he was a student of Professor Achille Vertunni. Here he approached landscape painting and developed a realist style that was often confused with that of the master.
Barucci participated in the Exhibitions of the Society of Amateurs and Connoisseurs of Fine Arts in Rome in 1880, 1885, 1891 and continuously from 1900 to 1908 where he presented landscapes of the Roman countryside and views of Sorrento.
He also participated in international events such as that of Chicago in 1893 with the painting “Lake in the Apennines”, in Petersburg in 1902 with “A sunset in Venice” and “Palude a Maccarese” and at the Salon of the Independents in Paris in 1907 with “Laguna of Venice” and “Regione del Polo”.
