Stefano Bersani (1872-1914) was an Italian painter.
Bersani studied at the Brera Academy.
The "Mylius" prize won during his formative years encouraged him, while his first notable work was the "Witch".
Bersani later established himself with works that aroused the interest of the pictorial critics of his time. He took part in many competitions, managing to win in Florence with the painting entitled "Annunciation".
No less fascinating was the painting "The Silence", which earned him the "Canonica Prize".
Numerous galleries in Lombardy - but not only - and the residences of nobles enriched their collections with valuable paintings by Bersani, who achieved universal consideration as an excellent painter.
The titles of his paintings were significant: "Barnyard Animals", "Warbler of the Larks", "Time does not judge" and "Enough for today", in which the representation of the wide rural horizons was associated with the painful figures of the strong children of the earth, bowed to the harsh toil and resigned to the life of the poor.
Four works in particular aroused great admiration among critics: "In Giardino", "Molino della linosa", "Oggi vacation" and "Autunno", in which the ardent color and exuberance of vigor manifested themselves in an unusual way.
But in his art, he created angelic faces and fascinating bodies surprised in their exuberance. Read the full biography

But in his art, he created angelic faces and fascinating bodies surprised in their exuberance. He painted flowery and joyful fields, gardens with intense greenery and bright green meadows.
Bersani was also a painter of interiors of buildings and stately homes; he also worked in the ornamentation of funerary chapels in Lodi, Legnano and Melegnano.
