Born in Montegrotte Terme in 1914, he began working at a brickyard in Ponte di Brenta as a child. At eighteen he was hired at "Richard-Ginori" in Doccia, near Florence, and in addition to working, he followed the factory's training courses. Subsequently he moved to Treviso where he found work in a small factory in the city. In 1937 he set up his own business and opened a small kiln which remained active until the start of the war when he moved to Bohemia where he worked in a porcelain factory. At the end of the conflict he returned to Italy and alternated work at various kilns in Grottaglie, Castelli and Vibo Valenzia with teaching activities at various art institutes. In 1950 he returned to Padua where he founded his own laboratory and where he worked until his death in 1977. Throughout his career he combined commercial production with the creation of numerous unique pieces inspired by an instinctive and popular primitivism. In his laboratory he hosted the ceramist Tono Zancanaro from the foundation until the 1960s.
