Vinicio Boscaini was born in Este (Padua) in 1927. He is defined as the "poet of the hills", because he has never forgotten the Veneto even if in his artistic history there is an important youthful passage to America. From the mid-1950s, having abandoned the sterile studies of the Academy, his training was increasingly influenced by the group of young painters working in Venice who supported an intermediate position in the controversy between neorealism - or socially inspired realism - and the field of abstract expressions. Subsequently the artist embarks on autonomous and solitary paths. Throughout his work, color is the predominant element, a "musicality" whose creative power comes from the great masters of impressionism: Braque above all, but also Picasso and the Fauves for their wild expressive violence of color. His strong, confident brushstrokes, without hesitation, give completeness to the work, poetry that constantly emerges from the canvases as a pregnant sign. He has a long militancy in art, exhibiting since 1956 in Italy and abroad.
