Leon Giuseppe Buono, born in Naples in 1888, was a landscape painter inspired by the sea and the landscape of the port of Pozzuoli. He studied at the Academy of Naples and, at a very young age, he made his debut in group exhibitions, immediately obtaining the admiration and applause of amateurs and critics, as well as numerous awards. He traveled extensively in Italy and abroad, exhibiting his works in the main cities and capitals of the world. The lights and shadows, the warm and cold, dazzling and transparent colours, vibrate in a lyrical and harmonious fusion in this artist's paintings. The technique used is highly refined, dynamic and intelligent. Leon Giuseppe Buono died in Pozzuoli in 1975.
