Giorgio Cattelan Biography
Giorgio Cattelan, founder of Cattelan Italia Spa, was born in Thiene, the youngest of seven brothers, the son of a famous carpenter from this small town located north of Vicenza. The designer perpetuates the artistic tradition of the family who are experts in the furniture sector, with his creations highly appreciated throughout the world. The Cattelan company, led by Giorgio Cattelan and his wife Silvia, began taking its first steps in the late 1970s. Since 1979, the two spouses have successfully led the company, which has expanded and consolidated internationally. 1989 was a pivotal time for the company, as it began to expand its market due to increased demand. Since then, the product range has expanded to include chairs and tables, which have become Cattelan's distinctive trademark, and bookcases and other accessories have also been added. The materials used have also increased, including wood, glass, leather and metal. In 1995, his sons Paolo and Lorenzo also joined the company, thus maintaining the family tradition.
