Charles Camille Trutié de Varreux was born on 17 November 1872 in Chambéry and died in the same city on 18 October 1942, aged 69. He was the artistic director of the DE VEZ productions of the famous “Cristallerie de Pantin” factory. De Verreux proposed a new artistic orientation of glassware such as: vases, bowls, lamps, multi-layered glass, engraved with etched ornaments.
He was also president of the Paris Chamber of Proprietors in 1933, and reserve captain at the General Staff.
