He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and became a professor of architectural drawing in 1908. From 1919 he collaborated in Giuseppe Torres' studio. From 1927 to 1936 he worked as a freelancer alongside teaching at the Istituto Superiore di Architettura in Venice, where he was a minor professor of architecture. In 1925 he built the War Memorial Church in Vidor (TV). At the end of the 1920s one of his projects won the competition held for the construction of the new Cathedral of La Spezia; but his project was not realized and the Cathedral was then built in the 1950s based on a design by Adalberto Libera. He built several buildings in Venice, including some pavilions of the Venice Biennale (the Venice pavilion in 1932, the Greece pavilion in 1934, the Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland pavilions in 1938) and the current Villa Mirandolina (then Villa Rossi) and the Pharmacist's House on the Lido of Venice in 1923-1924. In 1956 he built the Cipriani hotel on the Giudecca, again in Venice.
