Andre' Dubreuil Biography
Andre Dubreuil was born in Lyon in 1951. After having had various experiences with antique dealers, he moved to England, where he lived for about ten years. During this time, he studied drawing at the Inchbald School of Design while working in the nightlife industry. Initially, he focused his attention on iron bars, bending and transforming them into various shapes. This material was used to make chairs, wall lamps and candelabras. Subsequently, he took a different direction, exploring materials such as copper, enamel, steel and glass beads to decorate mirrors.
Andre Dubreuil is an artisan artist, distant from the world of design. His interest is exclusively in luxury decorative art, created entirely by hand, in which each work is unique. Since 1985, he creates his works with elegance, high quality and poetry, guided by his principles. A prolific and talented artist, he created the famous "Spine" chair in 1986. This model is today an icon present in numerous design encyclopedias and museums. It perfectly represents his unique style and his taste for materials and shapes.
