Alexandre Hyacinthe Dunouy, born in Paris in 1757, was a French landscape painter. In 1780 he moved to Italy, where he painted views of Rome and Naples. In 1810 he returned to Italy, became Carolina Bonaparte's official painter and carried out studies for the decoration of the Royal Palace of Portici.
When the French empire collapsed in 1815, Dunouy left Italy, but continued to receive commissions from King Louis XVIII, who also entrusted him with the design of the decorations of the Trianon, Compiègne and Saint-Cloud from 1818.
One of his beautiful "Panoramic Views of the Bay of Naples" is preserved in the National Gallery in London.
Dunouy died in Jouy En Josas in 1841.
