Enzo FARAONI (S. Stefano Magra, La Spezia, 1920 - Florence, 2017) Enzo Faraoni, Florentine painter and engraver, is one of the protagonists of Italian figurative art of the second half of the twentieth century. In his education, alongside the great lesson of the Tuscan tradition, relived in current ways (from 1931 he studied in Florence at the Porta Romana Institute with Pietro Parigi, Francesco Chiappelli and Giuseppe Lunardi), the stimulating influence of Carrà also soon imposed itself , De Chirico, Soffici and Rosai, of whom he was a young assistant at the Academy of Florence (1942). He won the Fiorino Prize in 1961 and in 1968 the first prize for woodcut at the Biennale of Italian Engraving in Venice. Faraoni is a lyricist, for whom it is impossible to distinguish reality from emotion, and his works tell the poetic everyday life of the simplest things through a delicate chromatic range.
