Formia & Vivarini Biography
Formia (Fornace Mian) was founded in 1962 by Alfio Mian and his son Giuliano, who were joined by Simone and Patrizia, the third generation of the family. Since its inception, I Mian has been directly involved in management, making the company grow over the years, which today boasts more than 90 employees and covers an area of almost 10,000 m2. The Formia collections are divided into lines and brands that distinguish objects and lighting with different inspiration and concepts.
Vetreria Vivarini (1967 - ) was founded in 1967. The intent of the company's founding members was to market Murano artistic glass by giving free mandate to the master glassmakers to express their art at the highest levels, transforming the now famous exhibition rooms all over the world, in an international glass art gallery. The policy adopted from the beginning of this adventure, which was and remains that of addressing the private customer directly, made it possible to raise the quality standards of the product, thus witnessing a continuous growth of the master glassmakers and the company. The collaborations of masters who marked the last century and continue to write the now thousand-year-old history of glass art on the island of Murano were, among others, with A. Barbini, A. Seguso, L. Seguso, L. Colofonia, P. Signoretto.
