Alberto Fraser Biography

Alberto Fraser, originally from Scotland, moved to Italy where, in 1989 in Milan, he expanded his production in the field of design. After earning a degree in architecture and a master's degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States in 1984, he began collaborating with several companies. It designs lamps for brands such as Stilnovo, Artemide and Salviati, and handles for tools for LAMP. Furthermore, it designs shower cabins and bathtubs for the Coema Plast company, kitchen appliances for Ariston and original sunglasses for Ray Ban.
His main interest is oriented towards light as a tool for visual experimentation in order to interact and communicate. This passion manifests itself through the creation of a series of projects in the field of lighting, such as participation in the "Lights of the future" competition in Frankfurt in 2008, as well as the design of the permanent lighting system of the Arco della Pace monument in Milan for the "Light exhibition design" studio in 2010. In 2008, his Lily Marlene lighting fixture, created for Luxit, was awarded the Compasso d'Oro award.
