Garinei Michele (Florence, 1871 - Sesto Fiorentino (Florence), 1960) was an Italian painter. After studying with his father Giuseppe, he attended the Florentine Academy of Fine Arts, where he followed the free courses of G. Fattori. He made his debut in 1892 with two genre subjects, one in Venetian costume, and with the landscape The Arno in summer. He dedicated himself to fresco decoration, obtaining important commissions, such as that for the restored Palazzo Fossi (Chariot of Apollo, Apotheosis of the Family, 1896) and that for the altar of Our Lady of Sorrows in the convent of Monte Senario, near Florence (1897). In the meantime he continued to exhibit genre scenes and landscapes at city exhibitions and sometimes also in Rome (1905), Milan (1906) and Turin (1910).
