Even before attending art schools, his training took place in the laboratory of his father, a marble worker, where, through daily practice, he gained familiarity and familiarity with the materials and processing techniques At the end of the Sixties, immersed in the fervent climate of the Piedmontese capital and actively involved in the demands for artistic and social renewal that animate it, he developed an original research on painting, investigating the elements that determine its essential expressive degree: the sign, the spatial presence, the chromatic zeroing. In this period, attempts and experiments followed one another, the expression of an almost frenetic artistic growth. From the spray-painted canvases (Landscape), exhibited in the 1968 solo show at the Galleria Il Punto in Turin, we quickly move on to enamels and flocking on plexiglas, wood or glass (Linea d'aria), which the following year transformed the rooms of the Salone Annunciata in Milan in a fluid environment, where the painting crosses the space in the play of transparencies of the supports.
