Benedetto Ghivarello was born in Turin in 1882. He was an Italian painter of the 20th century. He had Lorenzo Delleani and Giuseppe Scaglia as teachers, but he was able to perfect his technique by studying nature live. He exhibited for the first time at the Second Quadrennial of Turin in 1908, with two black and white paintings. Subsequently, he participated in exhibitions in Turin, such as those of the Promotrice, the Amici dell'Arte and Palazzo Madama, until 1928. In 1921, however, his work "Autumn" was shown at the Mostra del Carlo Felice in Genoa. Although Ghivarello devoted himself almost exclusively to landscapes, his main painting was "The Hanged Man" (1911), painted from life and preserved in Buenos Aires, while his other works are in the possession of collectors. Among these, we can mention "Winter Day (Surroundings of Turin)" and "March Morning (Gressoney la Trinité)".
