Giorgetti Biography
Giorgetti (1898 - ) The long journey begins in 1898 from Meda, in Brianza: here Luigi Giorgetti founded a cabinet-making workshop with around eight workers which bears his name. Shortly thereafter the workshop gave way to a building with over forty people employed in the production of finely carved furniture in classic style. As the years passed, the clients became increasingly prestigious - Giorgetti was now a point of reference for the Lombard nobility - and starting from 1920 the doors of foreign trade opened. The main place of export is the United States, where carved semi-finished products linked to different eras but with a predilection for the classic arrive. From the 1960s onwards the real turning points in an industrial sense began: first of all the production and export of finished products, then the launch of the first modern collections - Gazebo and Gallery (1970 and 1975) - finally the apt choice to combine to the already brilliant Internal Research and Development Office architects, urban planners and intellectuals who had never designed furniture before: this allowed the development of innovative ideas and the creation of a unique style. Today Giorgetti is a universally known brand in the national and international panorama of designer furniture for the quality of the raw materials (wood, fabric, leather and leather but also metal, glass and padding) and for the strong link with tradition combined with appropriate use of technology. The work takes place mainly in the two "historic" production sites, Meda and Lentate sul Seveso, the first used for activities such as wood storage and production and the second for polishing, assembly, padding and shipping: the the final result is the creation of furniture, chairs, sofas and accessories characterized by the highest quality, innovation and manufacturing skill. And, above all, with strong territorial roots. Among the many achievements, the Ping screen was awarded "Best Furniture" at the Elle Deco International Design Awards in 2013.
