Alexis François Girard (Paris, 8 December 1787 - Paris, 17 January 1870) was a French engraver. François is the son of the engraver Romain Girard (1751-18..) and began his training with his father. He worked alongside him on a series of studies of famous paintings of his time (the prints are signed "R. Girard" and "F. Girard" or "Girard" and "Girard son"). He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris but soon abandoned painting.
