Alba Gonzales Biography
Alba Gonzales was born in Rome in 1939.
Alba Gonzales has been attracted to art since she was a child. Before discovering her talent and cultivating it as a self-taught sculptor, she also expressed herself as a classical dancer and opera singer.
He studied at the Rome Opera dance school, where he obtained the diploma of star and choreographer Attilia Radice. He then abandoned dance and rediscovered his passion for sculpture.
He presented his first solo exhibition in 1975, inspired by the plasticity of the dancing body. Since then, he has frequented famous foundries such as the Anselmi Foundry in Rome and the Mariani Artistic Foundry and explored all the representative opportunities offered by materials such as bronze, marble and stone.
He has exhibited his works in many national and international personal and collective exhibitions, earning the enthusiasm of critics. Among his most significant works are his first monumental work, "Organic Tectonics", located in the Cathedral square of Pietrasanta, and the cycles "Men and Totems", "Loves and Myths" and "Sphinxes and Chimeras", characterized by a strong stylization of shapes and bodies. His works are present in many private collections, while his monumental statues are found in several highly visible places, such as Fiumicino and Pietrasanta. She was also the founder together with her husband of the Pianeta Azzurro Association, known for the "Pianeta Azzurro - I Protagonisti" Award and for the International Center for Contemporary Sculpture in Fregene.
Today, Alba Gonzales continues to create works that communicate important messages on the ethical and social issues that plague our time.
