Born in Cremona in August 1832, died in Turin on 21 May 1884. Son of a set designer. He studied for some years at the Carrara Academy in Bergamo with Enrico Scuri. He left school in 1852. In 1857 he went to Milan, where he soon found use of his natural facility as a draftsman, illustrating newspapers and books. In 1859 he served among Garibaldi's volunteers and illustrated many war episodes with pencil and brush. In his last years he devoted himself to oleography. We remember his landscapes, often animated by tasty figurines, which were noticed in the main Italian exhibitions of the time. Among others: "A beautiful day in March"; "Interior of a forest"; "Conference"; "La Dara in Brianza", which are located in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan; "Duck Hunting"; "Public gardens"; "Laundresses on the banks of the Lambro". At the Mostra dell'Ottocento Lombardo, held in Milan in 1900, his painting "In the garden" appeared.
