Jean-Jacques-Marie Huvé was a French architect, born in Versailles on 28 April 1783.
Son of the architect Jean-Jacques Huvé, he was a pupil of Julien-David Leroy and Charles Percier.
In 1808 he was appointed inspector of works for the Madeleine church. After the death of the architect Pierre-Alexandre Vignon, he was commissioned to continue the construction and design the interior furnishings, inspired by the architecture of ancient baths and basilicas.
At the height of his career, he became president of the Société central des architectes, president of the Société libre des Beaux-Arts, foreign member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, knight (in 1834) and then officer (in 1846) of the Legion of Honor , Knight of the Red Eagle in Prussia, etc.
Linked to the Delécluze and Viollet-le-Duc families, he welcomed the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc (1814-1879) into his studio.
