Perry King, born in London in 1938, after studying in Birmingham had chosen Italy and entered the studio of Ettore Sottsass, then a consultant for Olivetti. With Santiago Miranda he had contributed to the design and success of the Valentine portable typewriter of 1970. Together, the two designers had founded Studio King Miranda in 1976, later active for other furniture and lighting design companies. Many international prizes and recognitions; in particular Perry King was a teacher in prestigious English universities and at the Polytechnic of Milan. King died in January 2020.
