Fritz Klee, an architect and designer specializing in porcelain, began his training as an architect in Munich. He initially practiced as an architect, but also dedicated part of his time to designing ceramics and metal objects. Some of these works were exhibited at the Kunstausstellung in Munich in 1908.
In the same year, Klee was offered the opportunity to take over the direction of the newly founded La Fachschule für Porzellan (Technical School for Porcelain) located in Selb, Bavaria, a place which officially opened in 1909. Under his direction, many of the projects developed at the Fachschule were brought into production by various factories located in Bavaria, and many of the students established themselves as artistic directors in them.
Klee's career continued with his election as professor in 1911 and entry as a member of the Deutsche Werkbund in 1912. However, in 1939, he left the Fachschule, moved to Stuttgart, and continued to create graphic works.
