He was born in Milan on 15 September 1916 where his father had moved. He completed his studies in Brescia and then attended the Academy of Art in Milan, where he had Carlo Carrà and Aldo Carpi as professors. In 1950 he fell in love with Anna Medrano, daughter of a circus artist, and with her he began a wandering existence for several squares with its own caravan and which would have an impact on his art so much so that he was defined as the "clown painter". The success of Circo Medrano will also take it abroad to Türkiye, Greece and Austria. Egypt, the Soviet Union, and will also continue to design stage costumes. In 1954 he settled in Marina di Pietrasanta and later in Camaiore. Two more children are born: Ludovico and Isabella. In the 1960s he moved alone to Brescia (he returned to Tuscany every summer) and his mature and continuous commitment to pictorial art. And in 1965 his first major solo exhibition at the headquarters of the Brescian Artists Association (AAB). Exhibitions followed in various Italian cities and in Paris, London, Geneva, Stockholm, New York, Toronto, with recognition and prizes. Critics praise him and collectors increase and one of his monographs is presented by Indro Montanelli.
