Naya Carlo (Tronzano Vercellese, 1816 - Venice, 1882) Carlo Naya initially graduated in law in Pisa. Subsequently, after settling in Venice, he worked in a photographic and optical instruments atelier, collaborating with Carlo Ponti. The collaboration ended in 1868 and from that moment Naya opened the "Fotografie Naya" factory and several shops in Piazza San Marco and in Riva degli Schiavoni. In the second half of the 19th century the two companies, that of Ponti and Naya, became the most important in the city, both becoming photographic chroniclers of tourism. From '64 to '82 he published catalogs and albums to demonstrate the importance of his archive and participated in various exhibitions, such as the Internationals in London, Paris and Vienna.
