Nogari Giuseppe (Venice, 1699-1763) Giuseppe Nogari was an Italian painter exponent of the Rococo. He was part of the Venetian painters' guild and already in the initial phase of his artistic career the artist was inspired by the portraits of Rosalba Carriera and Rembrandt. Starting from 1730, several German collectors acquired his religious-themed works. Nogari created the decorations of the Royal Palace of Turin, now largely preserved in the Stupinigi hunting pavilion. He worked for Algarotti and then for Federico Augusto II and already in the 1950s he created numerous altarpieces for some Venetian churches, such as the "Christ giving the keys to Saint Peter" at the Bassano cathedral and the "Miracle of Saint Joseph of Copertino” at the Frari in Venice. He later became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
