The history of Oma, founded by Vladimiro Brunello in 1960, has roots in the world of Italian design and in particular in the bond with the architect Carlo Scarpa. Brunello acquired a mechanical workshop in Venice, which had become an exclusive point of reference for Scarpa. Over the years, in the laboratories of Oma (Officina Meccanica Artigianale), special brass lamps have been created for the illumination of works exhibited in major international exhibitions and in hotels throughout Europe. However, Oma's business model was not only based on production, but also included a showroom in via Tunisi, where Oma's products were displayed on the same shelves as renowned international design brands such as Flos and Foscarini.
