Julian Pacheco (1937-2000). He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, then, due to persecution for his communist militancy, he moved to Paris and later to Italy. Since 1969 many of his works have been aimed at the US market. In 1972, together with other artists such as Comencini, Mirò, Floriano De Santi and Rinaldi, he founded the Denunzia Group. He organizes numerous exhibitions in various Italian cities. His art appears as a form of protest against political, military and economic power. A strong irony therefore dominates, expressed through the use of tones taken from advertising iconography. After the death of Francisco Franco, the artist returns to Spain where he continues his activity as a painter.
