Palizzi Nicola (Vasto, 1820 - Naples, 1870) Nicola Palizzi attended the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Naples. His style was influenced by the Posillipo school and the work of his brother Giuseppe, approaching a landscape painting depicting sunsets, scenes immersed in light and small-scale studies. In 1843 he exhibited at the Bourbon Biennial and in 1848 he presented some works at the Bourbon Exhibition, some of which were purchased by King Ferdinand II. In 1856 he moved to Paris, where he studied the works of Corot and Courbet and the Barbison school. He subsequently returned to Naples and enrolled in the Neapolitan Promotion Society and in the same year he was appointed Honorary Professor of the Academy.
