Isa Pizzoni (Erba, 20 March 1921 – Erba, 13 March 2008) was an Italian sculptor. Pupil of Marino Marini, she studied art at the Brera Academy. In 1953 she obtained a scholarship to Paris where the art collector Christian Zervos introduced her to the Swiss painter and sculptor Alberto Giacometti. During the period spent in Paris he met some people linked to the Cubism movement such as the sculptor Henri Laurens, who remained enthusiastic about his works, and the German gallery owner Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, where Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso exhibited. She was introduced to Fernand Mourlot's atelier, which she would also frequent later, and worked for Giorgio Upiglio's Milanese atelier. Starting from 1954 he set up various exhibitions at the Il Milione gallery in Milan and at the Ariete gallery, before moving abroad to cities such as Brussels with two solo exhibitions and in various others for collective exhibitions before returning to exhibit in his hometown . Towards the end of his career he collaborated with the writer Giovanni Rajberti, creating 8 engravings for his book “Sul cats” published in 1991. Among his contemporary Italian artist friends are Floriano Bodini, Luciano Minguzzi and Franco Russoli.
