Giosuè Procida, ceramist and expert kiln maker, was born in Vietri in 1897. He began working as a worker at the "Vetreria Meridionale Ricciardi" and then as an apprentice kiln maker at the "Avallone" ceramic factory in Vietri. From 1925 he worked at the "Fontana Limite" and from 1927 to 1946 he was employed by the Vietri company "ICS". From 1950 he was the owner, together with his brothers Vincenzo and Salvatore, of the artistic factory for the production of majolica in modern, rustic and traditional styles Vietri "Procida" based in via Roma 11 in Vietri sul Mare famous for the production of interesting nativity scenes. Giosuè Procida died, the last of the brothers, in 1991, leaving the family factory to his son Franco and nephew Antonio.
