Fulvio Raboni Biography
Fulvio Raboni graduated from the Polytechnic of the Lombardy capital in 1955, the year in which he began his teaching and research activity, making his debut as a collaborator in the exercises in the two courses held by Gio Ponti. At the Polytechnic he was professor of Furnishings and Restoration of Monuments and then associate professor of Interior Architecture until 1996. In 1980-81 he spent a period as professor at the Engineering University of the Somali International University. Editor for the magazine "Mobile Italiano" and for the "Monthly Bulletin of the Order of Architects Milan, Pavia, Sondrio", he was also part of the study commissions for the X, XI, XII and XIII Triennale of Milan. He participates in numerous conferences and seminars (CIAM) and, with objects and furnishings, in important international architecture exhibitions (San Paolo, Tokyo). Among the awards received: the IN-ARCH 1964 national award and the Silver Medals at the XI (Museology Exhibition) and the XII Triennale (housing for the urban centre). We note his commitment in the field of design with numerous furniture and objects, in particular he acted as designer and coordinator of the furniture series for Dellitala for which he also designed the Milan store. He also created a cinema-theater armchair for Gavina 1960 and three hospital elements (window block, external lighting fixture, bedside table). Among his works: the Gravedona hospital and the renovation of the Teatro dell'Arte al Parco with Grisotti; the Comacini School of Teachers and the INA residential complex with Carlo and Emilio Terragni; the residential complex in San Donato Milanese and numerous villas and single-family houses (Alzano Lombardo, Livorno and Senigallia) as well as their own homes in Milan and Panarea. Among his writings: Proposal Abaco 78 (Bari, 1979); Special Construction (Mogadishu, 1981). Numerous design projects have appeared in the most important sector magazines.
