Giuseppe Raimondi (1941 - 1997) was an Italian designer. He graduated in Turin in 1967. Thanks to his research in the field of experimental design and the expressive possibilities of new materials, he became creative director of the Gufram company from 1966 to 1970. The innovative pieces that Giuseppe Raimondi creates and his artistic direction contribute to give the company international fame. In 1966, together with the artist Ugo Nespolo, he created Margherita, a table with modular armchairs, for Gufram, and subsequently the Alvar (1967) and Mozza (1968) armchairs. Subsequently, his curiosity towards new materials led him to collaborate with Cristal Art and Saint-Gobain, creating a series of mirrors, tables and lamps that play with the reflection of shapes and light. In addition to the field of textiles, office furniture and ceramics, it also works in the lighting field, creating the Miriade cable-mounted lamp for Valenti. In 1970 he founded the A.ba.co studio with others and in 1977 he opened his own studio in Turin. As an architect he takes care of the preparation of the Historical Hall of the Tire at the Carlo Biscaretti Automobile Museum. In 1987 he was among the winners of the Compasso d'Oro with the Delfina chair produced by Bontempi; His pieces are present in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum. His passion for design leads him to also engage in teaching and dissemination. He often writes for sector magazines such as Domus, Casabella, Abitare. In 1992 he published Abitare Italia.
