Richet Leon (Solesmes, 1847 - Fountainbleau, 1907) Leon Richet was one of the founders of the Barbizon school and today occupies an important place within the current of Romanticism. He was a painter of landscapes and still lifes. He studied at the Academy of Valenciennes under the guidance of Ambroise Detrez and later Diaz. It made its debut at the Paris Salon in 1869 and became part of the Salon of French Artists. Many of his landscapes are set in the Fountainbleau Forest, where he often depicted a figure near a lake or pond and attempted to study the effects of light in a similar way as the Impressionists later did.
