Rimadesio Biography
Rimadesio is a leading company in the production of systems for dividing rooms, which allow the same architectural space to be perceived, modified and interpreted in different ways depending on the moments and scenarios of use. The furnishing solutions proposed by the company are characterized by the use of materials such as glass and aluminium, chosen for their maximum flexibility and in compliance with energy considerations.
Since 1962, Rimadesio has collaborated with important Italian and foreign designers to create famous collections. Already in that year, in collaboration with the creative couple Gio Ponti and Gianfranco Mariani, he designed Tyco, a mobile bar with a dome-shaped plexiglass lamp. Among the most recent creations, Francis stands out, a new table system designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, characterized by light geometric shapes and a minimal design.
Rimadesio has received numerous awards and recognitions for his creations. In 1993, with the creation of Siparium, the company won the Young & Design award. In 2000, thanks to Zenit, it obtained the KBB Award and selection for the ADI Design Index in 2001. In 2005, Graphis was selected for the ADI Design Index and Vela achieved double success. In 2007, Rimadesio was once again selected for the ADI Design Index and the following year won the XXI ADI Compasso d'Oro Award in 2008. Finally, the Modulor boiserie system was nominated for the EDIDA 2020, the Elle Deco International Design Awards.
