He studied architecture in Venice, where he was a student of Carlo Scarpa, graduating in 1959, and began his professional activity in Milan in 1960. In 1985 he presented the Casa Frea project at the Paris Biennial and at the "Domestic project" exhibition of the XVII Triennale of Milan. In 1987 he took part in the exhibition "The imagined cities" with a project on Ancona. In 1988 he set up the exhibition space of the Landscape section at the exhibition "the cities of the world and the future of the metropolis" at the Milan Triennale. His teaching activity led him to teach first in Palermo (1982-1983), Venice (1987-1998), Milan, Polytechnic (1992-1993), the European Institute of Design in Milan (1997-1998), and at Ecole d'Architecture in Nancy. Since 1999 he has been an Academician of San Luca.
