Gianni Robusti was born in Varese in 1946 and lives in Cunardo. In the family's ceramic workshop he had his first encounters with the world of art. Those with Jean Arp, Hans Richter, Lucio Fontana and Emil Schumacher were decisive. In 1946 the laboratory became a cultural center. For years he has studied and explored the relationship between art and sacredness. In 1978 he was one of the founders of the Surya movement in Milan. In 1979 he created the scenography for the liturgical drama Sponsus at the Teatro di La Spezia. In 1983 he began an interdisciplinary collaborative relationship with the composer Joanne Maria Pini and Hsiao Chin, which materialized in 1984 in Locus (Cenobio-Visualità ass. Milano, Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrera, Waterland Museum in Purmerend in the Netherlands). In 1985 he joined the Shakrti movement founded by Hsiao Chin. In 1986 he was present, at the invitation of Arturo Schwarz, at the Venice Biennale in the Alchemy section. His first solo show was in 1975 in Milan. In 1990 he was invited by Flavio Caroli to the panoramic exhibition of Italian art after 1950 at the Taiwan Museum of Art in Taichung. He later exhibited in Italy, Israel, Holland, Denmark, France and Hungary.
