Leonardo Roda Artwork valuations, appraisals and auction estimates

Leonardo Rhoda was self-taught, perfecting himself under the guidance of Mario Cardellini, dedicated to landscape painting, initially at the tourist port during his frequent visits to the Ligurian Riviera.
In fact, from the Eastern Ligurian Riviera to the sea of ​​Ponant (especially the city of Bordighera, where he made friends and passionate collectors), and to the French Riviera.
We recall here the titles of some of his works: Between Celle and Albissola (1899), Riviera di Levante (exhibited in Turin, 1889), Costa Azzurra (1907), he left for fishing, along the marina of olive trees, in the sea in Bordighera .
Mountain lover, mountaineer and botanist, he painted multiple versions of Valtournenche and Monte Cervino, linked to seasonal and atmospheric changes.
As a result, landscapes are actually his only subject and in some of his creations he adds elements of real life.
From 1889 to 1924 he exhibited regularly at the Initiator in Turin and from 1895 to 1925 at the Circolo degli Artisti in Turin.
Leonardo Roda participated in exhibitions in Turin (1896, Sponde della Stura; 1898, Il Cervino), Florence (1896-1897, Fog in the mountains and After the rain) and Milan (1900, 1906).
Some of his works: "Sunshine", "Nomadic Life", "Quiet Corner", were acquired by the Society of Fine Arts of Turin in 1914.
Roda's pupil was Maria Righetto, daughter of Tancredi Righetto, from whom Roda probably received substantial financial help to promote his work. As proof, there are some warm letters of thanks, from artists to patrons. Read the full biography
