Romano Rui (1915 -1977) was a sculptor, ceramist and teacher. He worked with various materials: bronze, ceramic, marble, synthetic resins, wood, copper and other metallic materials, creating a vast production of objects. From 1942 to 1952 he taught at the Liceo Artistico di Brera and from 1945 he was assistant of ornamental plastic at the Polytechnic of Milan, at the Faculty of Architecture. From 1965 to 1977 he taught Sculpture Technology at Brera. Among his students, Alfredo Mazzotta. He opens his own sculpture studio in Milan. Collaborator of Gio Ponti, he created furnishing elements in buildings he designed.
