Auro Salvaneschi (1936 - ) born in 1936 in Pinerolo Po (Pavia, Italy), was a sculptor and painter as well as a ceramist, he followed his secondary studies in Pesaro and enrolled in the Florentine Magisterium. After obtaining his diploma he completed various experiences in ceramists' workshops, including the prestigious one in Baratti in Pesaro. No stranger to national cultural and artistic ferments, he follows the debates on techniques for working with terracotta in Venice and Milan together with Tancredi and Valentini, great interpreters of the art of ceramics. At the end of the 1950s he moved to Lecce, called to teach Ceramic Art at the “G. Pellegrino” (1959) of which he became head teacher (1982). From 1974 to 1988 he was also director of the State Art Institute of Parabita, in the province of Lecce.
