Thomas Sandell is one of Sweden's most renowned architects and designers, known for his design projects, interior design and many relevant architectural projects.

Born in 1959 in Jacobstad, Finland, he earned a degree in Architecture from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 1990.

The Sandellsandberg studio was founded in 1995 by Thomas Sandell, Ulf Sandberg and Joakim Uebel. Sandellsandberg was one of the first studios to combine architecture, design and advertising, challenging the conventional design studio model.

The studio currently employs 40 collaborators and is considered one of the most important in Sweden. Sandell is the author of prestigious interior projects, including the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm and the Swedish Architecture Museum in Stockholm.

He is currently involved in some commercial and residential projects in Scandinavia. As a designer, Thomas Sandell has collaborated with Swedish and international companies including Artek, Asplund, B&B Italia, Cappellini, CBI, de Padova, Gärsnäs, IKEA Sweden, Källemo, Mobileffe, Rapsel and Tronconi.

He has been awarded numerous awards including 11 Utmärkt svensk form (Swedish design award), Red Dot design award 2002 for Ikea Vågö, Metropolitain Home award 2003, The flash of the year for Leucos in 2007, The Kasper Salin award (nomination ) in 2008. His projects have been published all over the world.
