Sandro Santantonio Biography
Sandro Santantonio was born in Lecce in 1977 where he studied at the Liceo Artistico Sperimentale, he then moved to Milan where he attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and in 2000 he graduated with top marks. During his studies he began to collaborate with important companies and participated in national and international exhibitions and exhibitions. In 2004 he founded Sandro Santantonio Design which presents itself as a work and study group aimed at the new ideology of Design, capable of grouping together multiple capabilities under a single guise which, soon, allow the Studio to significantly expand its client base and work experience, collaborating with leading companies in the upholstery, lighting, home furnishings and fashion accessories sectors. In conjunction with its birth, Studio Sandro Santantonio Design acquired a partner - Andrea Cantù - who supports Sandro Santantonio in all decision-making choices as well as taking care of the communication section.
Today, the Sandro Santantonio Design Studio deals with Architecture, Interior & Industrial Design, Graphics, Packaging & Fashion Design, paying attention to the research of trends, the study of materials and new technologies in the fields of contract, fashion and lighting engineering. From the design of a product, to domestic or representative interiors, from the living room to expo, to events, these are all topics developed by the Studio thanks to the diversified experiences and skills of the professionals who compose it.
The Sandro Santantonio Design Studio has various awards such as the Young&Design 2004 special mention for the Flower armchair, two Young&Design 2005 special mentions for the Dune sofa line and the Zoe lamp collection, the Young&Design 2006 special mention for the Wave table, the First Prize at the Abitare il Mare 2006 naval competition organized by Seatec-Carrara Fiere, thanks to the design of a standard cabin for luxury cruise ships and the special prize "for the project that best managed to identify innovative solutions in a logic of maximum simplicity" Young&Design 2007, won for the Trinity lamp collection which received a mention at the Compasso d'Oro in 2009.
