Luca Schiavon Biography

Luca Schiavon (1960 - ) Born in 1960, son of the ceramists Elio Schiavon and Linda Metta, he learned the clay art at the family factory, called "Schiavon Ceramiche", starting in the first half of the seventies. In 1978 he began his artistic research by collaborating with some local factories and in the early 1980s, thanks to a trip to Japan, he completed his stylistic and technical training. In 1986 he made his debut by presenting some works at the collective "Arte Incontro" in Abano Terme and the following year he held a solo show, entitled "Arte Ceramica" in Piove di Sacco, in the province of Padua. In 1991 he was present at the "Ceramiche del Novecento" exhibition presented by the Adelphi Gallery in Padua and in 1992 he was invited to exhibit in New York at the "Art Expo". In 1993 he participated in the 48th International Art Ceramics Competition in Faenza. In 1994 he was among the artists of "Thats Italian" in Saudi Arabia. A potter of great capacity, over the years he created works, which he generally fired at a high temperature, which increasingly came closer to sculpture. Around the end of the 1980s Luca Schiavon became the owner of the family business.
