Piotr Sierakowski was born in Warsaw in 1957 and graduated in architecture in 1981. For a decade he held the role of artistic director in the artistic furniture sector in New York. Since 1990 he has taught design at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux and has presented his collections of art objects at the BDX in Bordeaux, the Design Gallery and the Antonia Jannone in Milan. In recent years, in collaboration with Martine Bedin, he has dedicated himself to artistic furniture, developing a new approach to the design of unique or limited production pieces, using different techniques. What his works have in common is the choice of materials and the application of "savoir faire" to household objects, conceived not for practical use, but to be contemplated for a long time. All Sierakowski's creations go beyond contemporary logic and are unique pieces, even when produced in limited series: incredible and surprising manual workmanship, the result of long hours spent carving precious woods.
