Studio Minale-Maeda was founded in 2006 in Rotterdam by Kuniko Maeda and Mario Minale, both graduates of the Design Academy Eindhoven. Their work is inspired by the contrasts that characterize the post-industrial world, such as the interaction between the global and the local, technology and craftsmanship, bespoke and mass production, the real and the virtual. Their approach stands out for its conceptual dimension, characterized by particular attention to material and detail, as well as the intercultural vision made possible by their different origins. The studio regularly collaborates with companies and institutions, and is recognized both nationally and internationally thanks to its presence in the specialized press, museums, galleries and collections.
